Nice campground, lots of trees!!! There is a bathroom/shower house that is clean and well maintained, and a nice laundry room with lots of washers and dryers. Fenced in doggy area too! If you want a fire pit you have to rent it. They have a small outdoor pool and a small playground area near the pool. Its a very quiet and pretty campground with water and electrical hookups, and a picnic table at every space.

Beautiful forest in the fall. We took our dogs on a short hike down Pyrite Mine trail, saw bear signs at the D parking lot. About 3/4 of a mile in one of our dogs pulled to the side of the trail and we heard a loud grunt from a distance, had to be a black bear, couldn't see anything. We kept walking, crossed a bridge and started to loop back on another trail towards parking lot D, heard another loud grunt ahead of us so we decided to double back the original way. Definitely want to make lots of noise in that region of the park, keep your dogs leashed and hike in groups if possible.

A day pass ($7.00 per car) is well worth the experience and is good for seven days. If you opt for the annual pass and buy it within the day pass valid dates they deduct the cost from an annual pass.

Beautiful park. The park rangers were very helpful in selecting the right trail for me and my dogs. We hiked the Farms to Forest Trail and had the trail to ourselves most of the time. The trails were well marked and the drive through the park was beautiful as well.

Beautiful park, great non mountain hiking. It gets steep hills and has a nice creek running through it. Prices are getting kind of steep for it though. $20 camping per night, $10 parking fee, $15 additional fee if you want to camp in the backwoods.

Great location, great facilities and awesome staff. Just south of DC, this venue offers camping, sprawling trails, interpretive exhibits, tours, orienteering, bird and wildlife watching and more.

We come as a family for day trips and were just here for a Boy Scout event. Always a great experience.

Absolutely love it. Please check their website to confirm camping availability.
